The Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) was officially registered at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in December 2007. HCAC is overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of 13 representative stakeholder members from within Jordan who are dedicated to raising quality and safety of health care services;
Responsibilities of the Board of Directors are to:

Oversee HCAC establish and review the criteria for granting accreditation and certification

Make Accreditation Award decisions based on the recommendations of HCAC

Declare National Quality and Safety Goals

Recommend the rationalization of all health care related legislation that Impacts on health care standards

Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and safety in all health care facilities and programs
