Governance


The Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC)  was officially registered at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in December 2007. HCAC is overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of 13 representative stakeholder members from within Jordan who are dedicated to raising quality and safety of health care services;

Responsibilities of the Board of Directors are to:

  • Oversee HCAC establish and review the criteria for granting accreditation and certification
  • Make Accreditation Award decisions based on the recommendations of HCAC
  • Declare National Quality and Safety Goals
  • Recommend the rationalization of all health care related legislation that Impacts on health care standards
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and safety in all health care facilities and programs
